Animals have a special way of bringing comfort, companionship, and joy into our lives. Sometimes, a purr, a cuddle, or a friendly face is a reminder that love can be found in the simplest moments.

This National Cat Day, we're celebrating the special bond between people and animals and the happiness they can bring into our lives.

Restoration is not about pretending the past never happened. It's about recognizing the possibility of healing, rebuilding, and moving forward. This is part of the hope we work to cultivate at the Dream Center.

A supportive community isn't one where everyone has everything figured out. It's one where people can experience difficult days without being defined by them.
We can help create that kind of environment by treating one another with respect, being patient, offering encouragement, and recognizing when someone might need additional support. At the Dream Center, care is about more than meeting physical needs. It also means helping create an environment where people can feel valued and supported.

As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, we celebrate the cultures, histories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. At Overcomers International Fellowship Dream Center, we believe every person deserves to feel welcomed, respected, and valued. No matter where you come from or what your story holds, there is a place for you here. Our commitment to dignity, community, and belonging continues every day.

Allen Bissell: Rebuilding One Step at a Time
Allen, who lives at Dream Center, is a true believer in second chances, and his life shows why. A skilled handyman, he took classes at the Career Force center in St. Cloud to learn maintenance and went on to earn his boiler license. Today he continues to pursue maintenance jobs across Minnesota and lends his skills to projects here at Dream Center. Allen is also a gifted writer, and he shared this poem with us
A Second Look
Don't read my life, By one page alone. I've lived through chapters, you’ll never have known., I've stumbled., I’ve fallen.
I've answered my past., But I chose to rebuild—,One step at a time. A background may tell you, Where I have been. It cannot measure The person I've become. Before you close a door, Look a little deeper. Beyond the report...
Beyond the record...
Beyond the regret. Because every life s more than its mistakes. Every heart, Is capable of growth. And every second chance Begins with someone...Taking a second look. "Information is a privilege. Judgement is a responsibility."
— Allen Bissell

How Our Program Works
OIF Dream Center serves adult men 18 and older through five residential buildings on our St. Cloud campus—Dream Center, Caleb House, Hospitality House, Joshua House, and Thomas House—offering 46 single-bedroom residences where hope meets transformation.
Our residential program serves men who are ready to make meaningful changes in their lives. We welcome referrals from case workers, social workers, corrections agents, and other ministries.
Program participants commit to:
• Maintaining chemical freedom while working toward independence
• Attending weekly support groups and setting personal goals
• Maintaining 24-hour accountability
• Completing household responsibilities and self-care
• Following through with corrections requirements, case manager directives, and aftercare plans
This structure isn't restrictive, it's liberating. It creates the framework within which real transformation happens, maintaining a culture of expectation that draws men upward toward their full potential.

Alexander is working through co-occurring treatment, and he is also one of the most creative people on our campus. He coordinates the audio and video for our church services and other group gatherings at Dream Center, making sure every message and every song reaches the room. He is a painter, a drawer, and a songwriter, and he is currently working on two books. His poetry is so powerful that he has performed it at the Paramount in downtown St. Cloud

Every man who walks through our doors carries a story, and many of those stories include mistakes, losses, and years of hard road. But at OIF Dream Center, we believe that no one is beyond redemption. This season, we're celebrating what happens when a man is given a second chance and chooses to run with it.
• 24 men are currently engaged in co-occurring treatment, receiving support for both substance use and mental health so they can heal the whole person.
• 8 men are attending St. Cloud Technical & Community College (SCTCC), building skills and credentials for a stable future.
• 9 men employed at this time, planning to move forward.
Behind every number is a man who decided that his past would not have the final word.

Glen Strayer: Stepping Up to Lead
Glen is currently in treatment, and this year he did something he had never done before. This summer, he served as an assistant coach for the Chain Breakers, a co-ed softball team. Glen had never coached, but he decided to step "outside his comfort zone and give it a try." That leap of faith has paid off. He is now the head coach of the Water Walkers, a fall co-ed softball team made up of men from Dream Center.
