There is something so deeply special about creating a piece that carries someone’s memories, their story, and a part of their heart.
This custom artwork was created for a longtime client now in her mid 70’s, preparing to move into a new home. She only had three tiny scraps of photographs from her younger years, precious little pieces of memories she never wanted to lose. Her wish was simple and beautiful… to walk into her new home each day and be reminded of those cherished moments and seasons of life.
The frame itself became a labor of love. Every detail was handcrafted piece by piece using IOD molds and clay work, creating a large, substantial, and very heavy statement piece filled with texture and character. After all the clay application and sculptural details were completed, I used my trusted Paint Couture Embossing Medium throughout the frame to fill, blend, and unify every crack and transition seamlessly together. It truly is my go-to product for creating depth and cohesion in for this type of work.
The entire piece was painted using Paint Couture Chalk Style Paints along with touches from their Acrylic Mineral line. The frame itself was finished in my favorite Green, Evergreen Chalk Style Paint and highlighted beautifully with Paint Couture Lux Antique Gold to bring warmth, richness, and timeless elegance.
Within the artwork itself I layered colors including Grounded, Autumn Sage, Basil, Coral Passion, Caribbean Coral, Cozy Beige, Pitch Black, Red Door, and Farmhouse Linen to create softness, warmth, and nostalgic depth throughout the piece.
The artwork was decoupaged using Paint Couture Extreme Guard Flat Top Coat and then fully spray sealed with two additional coats of the same for lasting protection and durability.
Pieces like this remind me why I love what I do. Art is not just décor… holds memories, tell stories, and preserve moments that matter for generations to come. ❤️

✨ Little Note: The picture laying flat on the table shows the truest colors of the piece. The upright picture was taken quickly in my workshop before it went out the door, and the lighting there was not the best, but because this piece was so large and heavy once completed, I had to snap a quick photo while it was finally lifted up before it left.
