I’ve had a few people asking about the difference between chalk paint and Velvet Luxe paint for painting furniture so I’ve shared the top points below. Always ask if you have any questions though 😊

✅ Premium Chalk Paint:
- very easy to use
- fast drying
- almost no prep needed!
- perfect for those who want to create decorative paint finishes
- needs to be sealed with wax or lacquer

✅ Velvet Luxe
- all-in-one paint, no sealer needed
- outdoor grade
- self levels: great for those wanting a super smooth finish

Both paints are easy to use, with very low VOC’s.

For those that are painting outdoor furniture, or want a super smooth matte finish - go for our Velvet Luxe. If you want to try more decorative finishes (think French, rustic, industrial), or are painting over a high sheen finish, our premium chalk paint is amazing and lots of fun!!

How beautiful is this chest of drawers with the Etoile Studio decoupage paper on the front?! 😍

This was done by one of our lovely customers, she also used Potters Clay on the surround with touches of Dark wax to soften and create depth.

How beautiful is this china cabinet that’s been refinished by one of our talented customers?! 😍

Painted in Carbon Black, it has the Long Stems decoupage paper from Mint in the back. It wasn’t quite big enough so she’s expertly blended out the image - so clever!!

I love how it’s been used here with the light wood frame to show off the paper! I also think Midnight Brew, our dark moody charcoal, could be great for a darker finish!

I think it would look fab with touches of our Golden Blush metallic concentrate and a dark colour - maybe Ocean Trench? What do you think?!
