Long before a Finn Juhl piece becomes part of a home, an extensive process takes place in the workshop. Each design is shaped through careful material selection, specialised craftsmanship, and a deep understanding of Finn Juhl’s original intentions. In our workshops, traditional Danish craftsmanship remains an integral part of the production process, ensuring that specialised skills and techniques are carried forward from one generation to the next.

During 3daysofdesign, House of Finn Juhl and Edition Copenhagen invite visitors inside The Workshop at Strandgade 66. Here, guests can experience the atmosphere of the workshops and gain insight into the processes, techniques, and craftsmanship involved in bringing a Finn Juhl design to life.

26/05/2026

Finn Juhl’s approach to furniture blurred the line between sculpture and function, creating forms that feel both expressive and deeply human. The Willadsen Series reflects this artistic and unorthodox vision. Originally manufactured in Søren Willadsen’s workshop in Vejen, the series embodies Finn Juhl’s belief that furniture should stand as independent artistic expression. As critic Henrik Wivel notes, Finn Juhl “punches holes” in solidity, giving his designs a vivid presence in the room.

In this 1918 home, the organic forms of the Willadsen Series merge beautifully with the architecture, as if they were always meant to be there—enhancing the elegance, proportions, and historic atmosphere of the space.
