The last picture it's showing a massive split in the bronze. This seems to be a situation of where the artist has not annealed the bronze well enough for casting or forming.

To repair, soldering seems to be the answer.

It is so very important to get objects like this absolutely clean in order for the solder to actually flow properly. Meaning, that retaining the original patina is not possible.

Painting with a deft hand. Actually I shake like crazy. The towboat is almost done but there is much detail to complete.

The Two Brothers towboat is getting a bit of masking removed and ready for putting in glazing for the portholes, that's the glass. A little bit of white painting after that and then the tug will be ready for display.

This big tug is getting its final coats of paint everywhere I can. The tug is getting 12 new porthole glasses too. The only way I can successfully anchor these porthole glasses in place is with a steady arm meant for soldering parts and a bit of tape to let them be glued and cured in place.
