White River Sawmills is looking for an experienced Fitter to join our maintenance team at our White River Mill.

We’re seeking a qualified tradesperson with strong preventative maintenance, fault-finding, welding and machining skills and proven experience working with sawmilling equipment in a high-pressure production environment.

A Section 13 Trade Certificate and a minimum of 5 years’ proven sawmill experience are required.

Behind the production lines at White River Sawmills is the saw shop, an important part of the mill that doesn't always get much attention.

This is where our saw blades are inspected, maintained, sharpened and prepared to go back into production. Because when you're cutting timber day after day, the condition and accuracy of the saw matters.

A properly maintained blade means a cleaner, more accurate cut, less waste and more efficient production. It also means identifying wear or damage before it becomes a bigger problem.

The saw shop may operate behind the scenes, but its work can be seen in every accurately sawn piece of timber leaving the mill.

Last week, we kicked off another team initiative at White River Sawmills, proving once again that the strongest teams are built long before the final whistle.

Across our mills, every team had one goal: work together, maintain full PPE compliance, uphold exceptional housekeeping standards and look out for one another throughout every shift.

The winning teams earned more than just bragging rights. Six lucky representatives from each team will be heading to Mbombela Stadium to enjoy the Kruger United FC vs Kaizer Chiefs FC match, celebrating the teamwork, discipline and commitment that got them there.

At White River Sawmills, we know that success is never the result of one individual. Whether on the production floor or the soccer field, it's teamwork, accountability and pride that deliver the best results.

Congratulations to all our teams for embracing the challenge and continuing to make safety a shared responsibility every day.

If timber could talk...It would have quite a story to tell.

It would remember years of growing in South Africa's forests before arriving at a sawmill, ready for the next stage of its journey.

From there, it might become the frame of a family home, the roof of a school, a deck overlooking a beautiful view or the beams supporting a business. The tree's journey doesn't end at the sawmill. In many ways, it's only just beginning.

At White River Sawmills, we're proud to be part of that journey. Every piece of quality sawn timber we produce is prepared with care, knowing it will go on to become part of something that lasts for years, and often generations.
