I have all the design details from this living layout for your project. The seating area pairs the low-profile Puffalo Universal Sofa by Ross Didier with the sculptural, sand-cast bronze base of the Zappa Coffee Table. In the background, a minimalist fireplace is anchored by a low hearth slab of Ocean Fantasy Quartzite.

If you are looking to design or source these pieces for your own Sarasota project, contact us to see how we can bring this level of elevated, contemporary coastal design to your space.

True coastal luxury is not defined by fleeting trends or predictable design clichés. Sarasota’s sophistication and artistic credibility embraces it’s art and culture at an elevated level. Coastal design is rooted in the scientific fundamentals that govern three distinct disciplines: art, architecture, and design. The core principles exist equally across all three. When they are brought into perfect balance and harmony during the architectural phase, a space relies entirely on its structural authenticity rather than cheap tricks, repetitive coastal color palettes, and seaside giclées.

These are spaces you can feel. They are compelling, not surface level or a fleeting moment, but integrated as much as the architecture into the environment.

You see it clearly throughout these images. The deep, linear movement of monolithic vein-cut travertine, the rich grain of marble, and the organic presence of green quartzite allow raw texture and weight to carry the room. There is a rigorous balance between positive and negative space, found in the heavy, block like form of the kitchen island, the clean lines of the minimalist black cabinetry, and the fluid shape of the plaster spiral staircase. Nature dictates the palette, illuminated by structural lighting and skylights engineered directly into the structure.

Designing with this level of honesty means there is nowhere to hide. Because the architecture & design doesn’t rely on cosmetic cover ups or trendy temporary styling, it demands an absolute masterclass in technical design planning and ex*****on to physically bring it to life. We are incredibly fortunate to work alongside elite builders who possess the exceptional craftsmanship required to execute these complex details with absolute precision.

As we look toward the future of ultra-luxury, the goal shouldn’t be to copy and paste coastal design for another 20+ years, or chase the next passing trend. It’s about honoring the fundamentals, respecting the materials, and creating authentic spaces built to endure.

A decompression chamber in the heart of Downtown Sarasota. Fully surrounded by handmade microcement, illuminated by a seamless shadow gap, and anchored by a raw travertine tub. This is a space built to immediately connect with the self, the earth, and calm tranquility, editing the world away into natural minimalism.

My background working with museum-level assets taught me that true curation is inseparable from preservation. In the museum world, protecting the integrity of an investment is taken with absolute seriousness. It is where I mastered the strict nuances of environmental control and specialized illumination—technical standards I have brought directly into the engineering of our showroom.

Every square inch of AD | Atelier + Design operates under precise climate and humidity controls. This isn’t just for comfort; it is specifically designed to protect the structural integrity of the fine artwork and functional art on display.

We applied that same institutional rigor to our illumination, utilizing architectural lighting with a 90+ CRI (Color Rendering Index). This ensures that every canvas, sculpture, and textile is experienced in its truest, most vibrant color spectrum, while entirely eliminating the harmful wavelengths that degrade rare materials over time.

At AD, luxury isn’t just what you see, it’s the invisible engineering that protects it.

Before founding AD, my time working at a contemporary art museum taught me that true curation is inseparable from strict preservation. That is where I learned the meticulous nuances of environmental control, lessons I have carried directly into the engineering of the Design House. Every square inch of Atelier + Design is under strict climate and humidity controls, specifically designed to protect the integrity of the artwork and functional art inside.

But preservation doesn’t stop at the air; it extends to the light. We intentionally integrated high-specification architectural lighting with a 90+ CRI (Color Rendering Index) throughout the showroom. This ensures every textile, sculpture, and painting is viewed in its truest, most vibrant color spectrum, without the harmful UV or heat output that degrades fine materials over time.

True luxury is invisible, but it protects everything you love.

As a designer, there is nothing like the thrill of seeing a vision leap off the lookbooks and into physical reality. A moment captured of me orchestrating the final layers of our latest transformation as the crew brings the Piet Boon pieces to life in the background.

There is a beautiful yin and yang dialogue happening in the environment right now. On one side, the quiet, monolithic minimalism of Piet Boon. On the other, the deeply soulful, tactile luxury of Baxter made in Italy. Both represent absolute, exquisite perfection, yet they approach design from entirely different points of view. That tension is where the magic happens.

To see these visions materialize is incredibly rewarding. I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to be the exclusive design house bringing these global visionaries to the Gulf Coast. We are building something truly special, piece by piece.

An incredible installation day at AD | Atelier + Design, capturing our latest evolution. Our space is intentionally editorial and experiential, a constantly shifting canvas where we challenge boundaries and debut new concepts.

The showroom is alive with striking layers right now: the evocative paintings of Michael O’Guinn, the graphic, soulful forms of Natalie Dunham’s installations and sculptures, and the impeccable, timeless craft of Baxter made in Italy furniture. Every corner is grounded by bespoke architectural features that give the space its distinct soul and structure.

An editorial vision demands flawless ex*****on. Globe Construction always has our back, seamlessly supporting every bold concept inside the Design House. We are endlessly inspired to collaborate with the finest artisans in the world.

Design is an edit of form, scale, and material tension. Today, AD | Atelier + Design activates the studio, establishing a rigorous dialogue between architecture and comfort.

We are placing the raw, geometric precision of Piet Boon directly against the deep, relaxed mass of Linteloo. The rugs anchor the composition, introducing a critical layer of tactile weight to the floor plane. It is a study in contrasts, clean lines meeting slouchy silhouettes, and hard edges meeting soft surfaces. This is about the physical presence of great objects occupying a room. Watch the installation unfold.

As designers, our moodboards are often filled with flat tears from architecture and fashion glossies. But Vogue Korea’s latest exhibition, “Vogue into Art,” challenges us to look at editorial archives through a completely different lens.

By slicing, layering, and treating paper as a physical architectural material, the featured artists bridged the gap between fine art and industrial texture. For the team at AD | Atelier + Design, this is a masterclass in spatial depth. It reminds us that successful design relies on the unexpected interplay of materials, much like pairing a minimalist concrete backdrop with a heavily textured, hand-embroidered focal piece.

We’re taking notes from Seoul this September. Creativity isn’t just about what you design; it’s about how you re-architect the familiar.
