It’s quiet. The sun hasn’t risen yet—but Labor Day has already clocked in here in Sarasota.

Boots are being pulled on, trucks started, boxes unloaded, and griddles heated. Before most of us have found our coffee, plenty of people are already making the day work.

Here’s to everyone who drew the working shift this Labor Day—thank you for keeping things moving while the rest of us enjoy the holiday.

Our team is enjoying a well-earned break, but we’ll be back Thursday morning, rolling up our bay doors to a warehouse filled with unique furniture handcrafted right here.

We flipped the calendar this morning and gave Baru the good news:
September has arrived.

Right on cue, Florida sent us a little rain, a rainbow—and the faintest rumor of fall.

Around here, September isn’t about changing leaves. It’s about Sarasota nights averaging roughly two degrees cooler than August, the rainy season beginning to contemplate its eventual departure, and the first tiny reduction in overnight swelter.

Two degrees. We’ll take them.

Baru, however, is keeping his eye on the rainbow and holding out for an actual cold front.

And while nature is merely hinting at fall, we’re going ahead without her.
