Today, the collection has grown to include custom-made wares, artisanal rugs, statement table accessories, mirrors, cushions, luxury home fragrances, and bespoke duvets. In Sept 2014, Arete Culture opened their 1st retail store in line with their vision of affordable luxe living. The store is a one stop home décor haven that carries an extensive range of elegant soft furnishings as well as established brands. A HOME BUILT ON RELATIONSHIP.

Three homes. Eight years. And our third collaboration with Eugene.

What began years ago as a shared design journey has evolved into something far more meaningful! A relationship built on trust, understanding and a shared appreciation for beautiful, considered spaces.

For Scotts 28, we took on one of our biggest renovation and gut-renovation projects yet transforming an old, dated condominium into a home that feels beautiful, inviting and unmistakably personal.

From the initial concept and mood, to the renovation, sourcing, furniture, statement pieces and final styling, every detail was thoughtfully considered around Eugene’s needs, lifestyle and vision.

But beyond the transformation itself, Scotts 28 is a project that means so much more to us at Arete Culture.

It is a reminder that the most rewarding homes aren’t simply built from design ideas — they are built on relationships.

A clinic should feel calm before a word is spoken.

When we designed Andrew Choong Vascular Surgery at Mount Elizabeth Novena Specialist Centre, the brief was not simply to make a medical space look beautiful. It had to reflect the way Dr Andrew Choong practises: precise, calm, discreet and deeply considered.

As a vascular, endovascular and aortic surgeon, Dr Choong’s work often involves complex decisions, anxious patients and families, and care that depends on trust. The space needed to support that from the moment someone walks in — professional without feeling cold, premium without feeling intimidating, and comfortable without losing clinical seriousness.

Working with Andrew MTL Choong and andrewchoongvascularsurgery, we created a clinic environment that balances specialist medical expertise with warmth, privacy and reassurance.

Thank you, Dr Choong, for trusting Arete Culture with such a meaningful commercial design project.

PART 2 — PRIVATE CONSULTATION ROOM
FROM A HOME TO A HEART CLINIC | PART 2

A beautiful first impression is important, but what happens beyond the reception is just as meaningful.

For the Private Consultation Room at Andrew Choong Vascular Surgery (ACVS), the intention remained the same: to create an environment that feels calm, warm, welcoming and distinctly personal.

Rather than a conventional clinical setting, we layered textures, colours, artwork and carefully curated décor to create a quieter, more residential atmosphere, a space where patients can feel at ease, relaxed and comfortable.

Every element was thoughtfully considered to complement the overall language of the clinic, carrying the same sense of understated elegance and tranquillity from the reception into the consultation experience.

And perhaps that is what made this project so special.
After 7 years of partnership, we were entrusted once again with a completely new chapter, transforming a residential design relationship into a commercial space with the same warmth and heart.

PART 1 — RECEPTION & CLINIC TRANSFORMATION
FROM A HOME TO A HEART CLINIC | ANDREW CHOONG VASCULAR SURGERY (ACVS)

Our partnership with Andrew & Audrey spans over 7 years, from transforming their HOME back in 2018 to now creating the NEW PRIVATE PRACTICE of Andrew Choong at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre.

A journey built on trust, respect and a shared belief in great design from a HOME to a HEART CLINIC. ❤️

With just 5 weeks from start to finish, the brief was clear: create a medical space that feels soothing, welcoming and inviting one that doesn’t feel clinical, but instead beckons you in and makes you feel at HOME.

From the carefully curated carpet in the main reception and walkway, featuring beautiful shades of blues, greens and greys, to the grey vinyl wood flooring and thoughtfully layered feature walls of paint, wallpaper and mouldings; every detail was chosen to create a sense of calm, warmth and tranquillity.

And because it’s Andrew’s clinic, and he was born in the Year of the Horse. The space also pays homage to his story through striking horse-inspired artwork, including a statement horse art panel and a vibrant Hermès Horse shawl.

Arty collectibles, exquisite décor and carefully selected accessories complete the look bringing personality and soul into a space dedicated to caring for others.
Most importantly, we were given 150% support, flexibility and carte blanche to bring the vision, mood and feel of this private heart clinic to life.
