Turns out, after spending all that time building bars for everyone else, we finally got around to enjoying our own. 🍻
So the Boss took his place behind our bar, with close mates pulled up on the other side, and for once there was no measuring tape, sawdust or talk of delivery dates.
Just a few drinks, plenty of laughs and a good excuse to put the bar to work.
Now we’re curious... what does your home bar look like? Still dreaming about one? We want to see that too.

Throwback Thursday!
Back in 2024, Boss was out doing what Boss does best… inspecting the load and making sure everything was up to scratch.
A quick stop along the Kaikōura coast, a lobster-related detour, then back on the road.
Because when you buy from Strongbarn Woodshop, we don’t just wave goodbye at the gate.
We deliver personally, all over New Zealand.
It’s part of the job. And the job has some pretty spectacular views!

It's the first day of spring! 🌼
Time for the annual furniture inspection. Check the table. Check the seats. Give everything a decent wobble.

Then:
Count the bums. How many people do you really need to seat?
Measure the battlefield. Does everything actually fit?

Because sunshine has a funny habit of bringing out more people, more BBQs and a lot more sitting around. If your outdoor area isn't quite working, now's the time to sort it.
Spring's here. Might as well get the outdoor area earning its keep!

Has your outdoor furniture retired?
If the table wobbles, the chair groans and nobody sits down without first checking the structural integrity...it might be time!
Spring is nearly here, and the BBQ is about to come out of hibernation.
Good outdoor furniture should be solid, sensible and made for being outside.
Ours is handcrafted from solid Macrocarpa and made to order here at Strongbarn Woodshop.
No flat-pack gymnastics required - thumbs up to that!
If your current setup has seen better days, now's a good time to sort it before summer gets properly underway.

And that’s a wrap on the Eastbourne delivery!
We built the bench. We loaded it up. We drove it to Welly and, most importantly, got to meet the people we built it for.
This is why we like delivering our furniture ourselves. It’s not just about getting it from A to B. It’s about the people at the other end.
Another piece delivered. Another good yarn along the way.
And yes, we survived the “lovely” Welly weather. 😂

From Strongbarn Woodshop to Eastbourne!
This reclaimed Rimu bench seat had a fair bit of work to do before it was ready for the road.
Lots of sanding, plenty of drying time, then loaded up and bound for Wellington over the weekend.
Reclaimed timber, plenty of character and a second life as a piece built to be used, not just admired.
A huge thank you to Garry and Cecilia for choosing us to craft your new bathroom bench. We were thrilled to deliver it in person!

It’s delivery day!
Quick stop on the Desert Road heading south.
Tis colder than a Heineken from the fridge today. 🥶 And there’s snow on them there mountains hiding under the cloud.
The furniture’s snug in the back. The Boss? He ain't getting out for any candid pics 😂

Furniture delivery with a lighter footprint. 🌿
When you’ve spent all that time building furniture to last, wrapping it in a mountain of plastic doesn’t really make sense to us.
So when it leaves Strongbarn Woodshop, we use reusable blankets or recyclable materials to protect it on the journey. No plastic wrap. Just sensible protection with a little more thought.
And whenever we can, we deliver it ourselves. Because delivery isn’t just getting furniture from A to B. It’s part of the customer journey. We get to meet the people we built it for and make sure it arrives safely.
Built by us. Delivered by us. Wrapped with a little more thought. Now that’s a journey worth taking. 😉

The Boss has a job to do.
Count, stack and rack. No distractions and no random questions today, please. And definitely no apprentice interrupting the process for a few social media photos.
Because when someone interrupts the process…..
Apparently the mask is for dust, but the face is for the budding photographer.. 😷😂
