A well-deserved weekend away for me and Mrs Me. A mooch at High Force Waterfall and a day out in . The market was very cool! Lots of talented crafters selling their wares, and a nice little trip up the river and back with a rowboat hire from Browns Rowing Boats Durham . My shoulders felt it the next day! 😂 2 night stay at The Impeccable Pig Sedgefield (birthday present from Mrs Me) ... was lovely. Super luxurious room! lots of food, lots of booze...and most importantly... NO KIDS! Shame to have to come back to reality.

We're seeing more and more of this lately. People assume they have good quality leather on their chairs and sofas. Marketed as 'PU leather', it is a lower quality split from the animal hide with a plastic coating applied... once it starts to peel it will go from 0-100 in no time! Decent leather will be labelled as 'Genuine leather' if its labelled anything else, it could be this junk!
These chairs recovered for a long-time customer of ours using Pastiche crush velvet in Petrol colour.

Something a little different... I had a customer request some protective covers for their luggage. Two cabin bags and two larger hold cases in luxurious deep green and a complementary car hooding from for the trim around the handles. Personalised with monogram embroidery by Design Streak

A clean and polish and new leather skiver on this antique bureau. We use an old recipe for a homemade wood restorer and cleaner made up of linseed oil, oil of turpentine, white vinegar and methylated spirit. Equal parts shaken to emulsify and applied generously with 0000 grade wire wool then buffed off with an old towel. It works wonders for revitalising wood grain, cleaning and removing minor scratches from french polish, even removes paint spots. 24 hrs later a couple of coats of natural beeswax polish gives the piece a beautiful warm glow and silky feel.
