The barrel is watertight when shipped from my workshop, but the staves can shrink if left empty for too long, especially if left in the sun.

Depending on use, the barrel may need to be emptied and refilled weekly or monthly. Water treatment is not necessary. Customers recommend adding chlorine the same as for hot tubs.

The barrels have been used to make spirits and will still smell like whiskey. When filled with tap water in hard water areas, it may react with the wood and make the wood milky/smelly. To solve this problem, you can buy water-softening salt or chlorine.

If the delivery price is much higher than the standard delivery price, I will contact you to arrange payment to cover the extra shipping cost.

Most of the items we sell are shipped via courier and delivered Monday to Friday during normal business hours. If it's likely you will not be in to sign in for the barrel, please provide your safe place i.e drive or neighbour etc.

Each barrel is equipped with a tap, seat, and opening lid as in the picture.

Please note that the price does not include shipping to the Highlands/Islands/NI and cannot be shipped.

All metal hoops are additionally attached to keep them in place.

The barrel should be filled with water all year round so that it does not dry out in warm weather because the staves can loosen.

Whiskey bands and oak are strong and of very high quality, they have been protected with black paint to protect against rust, however, under the influence of water and rainy weather, a small amount of rust may appear, so you need to take care of the barrel impregnating it, the centre of the barrel has been cleaned of carbon and impurities, however, remember that a small amount of sediment may remain, so rinse with water.

The barrel will be delivered by a transport company on a pallet, it will be unloaded in the driveway or at the door, the truck driver is not obliged to place the barrel in the garden, etc., so make sure to help transport the barrel to the garden

If you have more questions, please message me before placing an order. If we need to re-deliver a pallet, the customer will be charged £50. If you can only get delivery on a certain day, please mention that in the order notes.
If you cancel your order after it has shipped, please note that your refund will be less than the return shipping amount, we use a shipping company that delivers barrels on a pallet rather than a traditional courier as the barrel is large and heavy.

Each barrel is unique. There’s no two exactly the same barrels nor two same trees, they have an individual arrangement of boards and have microdamages and imperfections that arose during transport in the distillery, usually the barrels are between 30-70 years old but there are exceptions even around 100 years,

I think that everyone who buys a barrel wants to have something unique, not repetitive like furniture from IKEA stores, so if you expect a perfect piece of wood, I think it is not for you, please also pay attention to the door, which is sometimes not perfect due to the construction of the barrel which was not created by artisans to serve as furniture but as a container to store and create good quality alcohol, but I think anyone who likes real wood and wants to add some luxury to their home or garden found a perfect furniture.
