During 3daysofdesign, designer and cabinetmaker Anker Bak presents The Design We Hide Away—an exhibition exploring dignity, care, and the objects we encounter in life’s most vulnerable situations. The exhibition unfolds across six interconnected spaces, bringing together furniture, assistive tools, ceremonial objects, and personal belongings to challenge how we think about design for ageing, illness, and care.

As part of the exhibition, the Hiro Chair and Yōbi Pill Box—designed by Anker Bak and produced by OneCollection—will be presented alongside a wider selection of objects and concepts developed through the newly founded movement and platform Dignity Design. Together, they reflect a shared ambition to bring aesthetic quality, tactility, and human consideration into spaces and situations where function has traditionally stood alone.

Named after the Danish word for Water Lily, the Åkande series by Jonas Lyndby Jensen reflects nature through forms translated into wood. Jonas Lyndby Jensen, recipient of the Finn Juhl Prize, has shaped a family of pieces where softness and structure are held in quiet equilibrium.

Crafted in solid oak, the series spans two stools, a side table, and a desk. Its defining detail—a gently refined, leaf-like edge—softens the expression of the wood and introduces an organic, almost living quality.

The Åkande Stool with four legs also functions as a side table, designed to complement classic lounge chairs, including those by Finn Juhl.

In a modern summerhouse north of Copenhagen, the KS1 Chair settles quietly into its surroundings.

Designed by designer and cabinetmaker Kasper Salto, the chair is created with longevity and minimal environmental impact. It is produced at OneCollection’s workshop in Vejen, Denmark, combining craftsmanship with durable materials such as FSC-certified oak, beech, or ash, and webbing made from 90% recycled cotton in black or natural tones.

Here, the KS1 Chair is paired with the Nordsø Round Table and Åkande Side Table, creating a calm and cohesive setting.

Morning light drifts through wide glass panes, settling softly on pale wooden floors and clean architectural lines. Just north of Copenhagen, a modern, airy summerhouse frames the season—made for slow family moments.

Here, the Council Family Sofa finds its place. With its refined expression, generous comfort, and architectural clarity, it extends the language of the series into a more relaxed, shared setting. A slim steel base, tailored upholstery, and a gently contoured backrest give a sense of effortless ease.

Designed by Kasper Salto & Thomas Sigsgaard, the Council Family builds on a legacy that began in New York, now reinterpreted for contemporary living. Crafted with longevity and responsible materials in mind, it’s a piece that feels as considered as the space it inhabits.

The Wing Table will be presented at the fair Trends & Traditions in Copenhagen on May 7.

The Chairman Barstool is a further development of the Chairman designed by Henrik Tengler for OneCollection in 1990, featuring longer legs and an elevated seat height that makes it particularly well-suited for restaurant and hospitality environments.
