For more than 15 years, we — Piet and Lizelle — were part of the bedding retail industry, working with all the well-known bed brands available on the market. Over the years, we helped thousands of people choose beds, and through that experience we began to notice something important.
People were no longer only looking for big brand names. They wanted beds that were more affordable, stronger, longer lasting, and most importantly — beds that felt exactly right for their own comfort and support needs.
This realization inspired us to start a new journey.
We spent countless hours researching bedding, foam densities, support systems, comfort layers, and what truly makes a bed good for back and neck support. Our goal was simple: to create high-quality beds that give people the perfect balance between comfort, durability, and affordability.
That dream became reality with Bed Factory Howick.
Today, at our factory in Merrivale, customers can experience something different. Instead of simply buying a bed off a showroom floor, people can actually see what goes inside their mattress. We believe customers deserve to know exactly what materials and foam are being used in the bed they will sleep on every night — something very few bed stores offer.
We are incredibly proud of the custom beds we build. Every bed is made with care, quality materials, and a focus on proper support and comfort. Whether someone needs extra support for back and neck problems or simply wants a bed with a specific feel, we work closely with them to create the right solution.
And the best part? Because we manufacture directly to the public, our customers often pay nearly half of what they would pay in a traditional retail bed store.
