Meetlo collection

An african term derived from a South African language Sesotho meaning 'customs'.
Meetlo is the first entry take on the collection powered and supported by Citybirds. Meetlo aims to narrate a story of African customs and royalty through furniture designing in a modern twist that is functional, art driven, material and element exploration.
These are entries to an ongoing collection of pieces. The theme directive on its unique way is borrowing and drawing inspiration from the richness and aesthetics of the South African cultures and customs.

Lenaka (~Horn)

The Lenaka (~Horn) coffee table is inspired by the strength of the horns, found in the indigenous animals in Africa. It is part of the collection MEETLO.
Each arc on the table represent a horn, stacked together in symbolism of collective strength, unity and togetherness which serves as an awakening to us as the people of the soil.

Kgosi Server (~ King Server)-

The kgosi server is a symbolic form of crown and story telling. The pattern is the narration of story telling, and the legs turned upside down symbolizes the spikes on the crown, which when placed in this position they hold on to the weight of the story and journey with African royalty.
