A customer approached us earlier in the week after being told by another manufacturer that vertical slats are quite weak and can often be kicked out by accident by children. This might be true for that manufacturer, but we prefer to over-engineer things and use a sandwhich method of construction on all our beds. It might not be traditional joinery, but I dare any grown man to kick our slats out deliberately, never mind a child.
