I asked in a story how you measure success.

For me, its persistence. Even though the first 3 pieces of Ash I tried to bend snapped or split, I kept refining the bending jig until finally on the forth try the result was incredible.

When you achieve something you knew was possible but had to solve so many problems before getting there without giving up - thats success. In my eyes at least 😅

I'll post some of the other responses I recieved, its super interesting to see how different we all are.

Shou Sugi Ban

Because setting your woodworking project on fire is considered “refined modernism.” 🔥

An ancient Japanese technique where you carefully char the surface of timber to protect it, preserve it, and make it look outrageously cool.

Basically:
Burn wood
Brush wood

Pretend you had control of the fire the whole time
Somewhere between craftsmanship and arson.

The Olfa retractable knife and Japanese saw!
