ite the species not being indigenous to South Africa, this tree brings back memories of good times spent in our beloved Cape Winelands. There’s something truly South African about oak; with it’s easily distinguishable leaves, it’s large overhanging canopy, and the unique aroma enjoyed by wine-lovers and carpenters countrywide, oak is simply a pleasure to work with. Our design aesthetic is simple: minimalism is at the heart of every Good Oak furniture piece, because we believe that design should never be noticed, instead, it should fade to the background so the object can be enjoyed without restraint. Our design philosophy is that form follows function, and all our pieces imbue this; right from the lumber yard, through to manufacture. Our value proposition is one of a fine balance between offering goods that are priced attainably, while being locally manufactured from premium materials and finishes. Despite the prevalence within the marketplace, we believe that good design should not be charged for, and should result with items being more attainable for all. We look forward to inviting you to our workshop at Tollgate Centre, 12 Ravenscraig Road, Woodstock, 7925 (by appointment only).

The none-visible drawer interior is made with high quality 16mm oak melamine to save weight while the rest is solid oak.

We offer this item in two sizes to suit most living spaces where additional storage or display support is needed.

So hello to a new item, and a new move into moving parts for us!

Enter the Standard Pedestal: the perfect bedside accompaniment, featuring one smooth sliding drawer and an open plan section for additional storage. As with all our Standard range goods, this design is minimalist and functional, without any fanfare.

The none-visible drawer interior is made from a melamine laminate with a beautiful oak finish to save weight, and the overall unit measures 450x350x600(h) mm and is perfectly suited as a bedside or office component.

A double drawer option is available upon request.

I think we’ve just unlocked our best stain yet! 😮‍💨

I’ve never been a fan of veering away from the wood’s natural colour, but I think this finish is so transformative, it’s worth adding as a default option for all our goods.

We completed this Nordic dining set last Friday, and we all stood around and marveled at its beauty. Most stains, well, look like stains, but few truly look authentic. What do you think?
