Yeah, I broke down and finally made one of these. Kind of more hassle than it’s worth maybe but the coolest part is the layers. The pictures don’t do it justice because being able to see through all 3 layers and the waves underneath adds a lot of depth and dimension that you really can’t appreciate unless you see it in person.

You’d think it would be pretty straight forward to carve a wine barrel stave right?!?! WRONG! The curvature poses as multitude of issues from work holding to depth of cut. It took quite a lot of figuring height measurements of each letter at the face of the wood to actual depth of cut, and ridiculous math equations along with straight trial and error and seeing if all my numbers were right. I feel numb right now. I’m a wood worker dammit not an Astro physicist!!!!!

Custom Beer Tap Handle made from Purple Heart filled with Pearlescent Blue tinted Resin that was carved using the CNC and then turned down to a taper by hand on the lathe. First time trying that technique and I think it worked out well. What say you?!?!
