This weekend I visited with the client and her daughter in an assisted living facility the daughter ‘thought’, that her mother had an expired ID. She did not so unfortunately I could not do the notary for them. Please remember especially with seniors Michigan Notary law requires an expired ID for all signers. A tip to anyone that’s considering having us do a notary for a ‘senior’ : Michigan law requires non-expired ID from all signers. The three IDs that are acceptable our drivers license ID card or passport, those are the only ones excepted by the state for notary ID. If you have any questions feel free to call us. January’s tip: When thinking about needing a mobile or traveling notary to come to you, remember the signer hast to have current non-expired ID and be of sound mind. This is notary law. A helpful hint: It Is very important to know these facts when you are ready to have a Notary do your notarization.
