Well hello everyone 😁 So clearly "Operation Farmhouse Trend" has been underway for sometime now! Chances are you have a piece, are looking, or have a wish list going on.....mmmhhhmmm! 😉 Prices can vary greatly amongst builders, but it's important to keep a few things in mind. There is various preparatory that takes place (planing, jointing, ripping, sanding, etc.). Some might not have the equipment, others might not be knowledgeable, and some may choose to eliminate the steps to keep costs low. I find that customers who are not familiar with the process, don't really know what to look for, or inquire about...so here are just a few things to start with:
- What type of prep work is taking place, and are large nail/screw holes filled?
- Is the underside/interior finished (stained/painted, etc.)?
- Is the entire piece (base included) sealed at least a little?
Conclusion...time is money...all farmhouse furniture is not created equal! Some don't mind and that is totally cool 😊 I'm certainly not the best builder, or the most expensive...just wanted to provide some insight. I know for all of us, despite the process that takes place, an incredible amount of love is poured into each piece! ❤️
