Quartzite or Quartz?
This is one of the most common questions — and one of the most expensive mistakes we see in mid- to high-end projects.
They may have similar names, but their origins, performance, and applications are completely different.
Quartzite is a 100% natural stone formed through the metamorphism of sandstone. It is one of the hardest natural stones available, making it ideal for high-traffic kitchen countertops and surfaces that require true durability.
Quartz is an engineered material made of approximately 90–95% quartz mineral combined with resin. It offers a more uniform appearance and does not require sealing, but it cannot withstand direct heat.
Each material has a specific purpose. The problem happens when the wrong surface is specified for the wrong application — and the consequences usually appear only after installation.
