In our thick slab waterfall tables we usually use angled domino tenons, but they wouldn’t work here.

The shelves are through-tenoned, so the sides have to slide straight on—no angle to draw the joint together.

Instead of forcing it, I made an L-tenon to make it work cleanly. These are also useful in 3/4” mitered casework edges.

Most people wouldn’t bother with this—would you, or just change the joint?

Cutting joinery the traditional way.
This cabinet is built with through mortise-and-tenon joinery, hand-cut and later wedged for mechanical strength and longevity. No shortcuts—just careful layout, sharp chisels, and patience.
