An update on Rachel's surgery -

After a long day of surgery last Thursday, June 4 (~ 6 hrs of actual surgical time), Rachel's doctor reported that she was able to successfully remove the entire tumor. We have to wait a couple of weeks for the complete biopsy report and then any follow up treatment will be determined.
She was able to come home Monday and her recovery is as expected so far. Not easy, of course, but she seems to be gaining every day. Her balance will be the main thing we watch to see if she can regain a fairly "normal" level of functionality.

We're very thankful for how it's all gone - for an excellent, caring medical team and hospital staff at the UW Hospital and for all of you who have taken on some part of this with us. The experience and the results have exceeded our hopes and expectations.

Good Monday morning to all,

We want to share some news that will soon be affecting our family and our business operation here at Black Creek Falls Furniture. Our daughter and sister, Rachel, who has faithfully served in the office here for many years will be undergoing surgery later this week for the diagnosis and removal of a brain tumor which was discovered earlier this year.

With her absence, we'll not only miss her faithful and cheerful service in the office and around the shop, but much more her ready smile and steady hands which brighten and fill the corners around here. Many of you who have known us and supported us over the years have become much more than customers to us - you've become friends. And with that in mind, we especially wanted to let you know what lies ahead for us on our path of life.

The words of this song express our feelings well -
