Sometimes we run late, and some times we stay open later but we're open 12:00 to 5pm Thursday through Sunday. We're often here on days we're not usually open too, like today, Wednesday.

To be so beautiful at 8 is heart warming.. to have such a beautiful dress makes you glow like a princess.."HAPPY BIRTHDAY"🎂 🎈 ON YOUR *Special DAY.*..

This morning my daughter opened her eyes and said,
“Mom, today I turn eight, and I want to look like a princess.”

I smiled, but my heart felt heavy for a moment. Since the divorce, money has been tight, and I worried I couldn’t give her the birthday she dreamed of.

Then I remembered the dress in the closet. The one I found months ago at a thrift sale and saved for something special.

When I showed it to her, her face lit up.
“Is it really for me?”

White lace, soft sleeves, a gentle bow. It fit her perfectly, like it had been waiting just for today.

I curled her hair the way she always asks and placed the small crystal crown on her head. She stared at herself in the mirror, completely still, then whispered,
“I look like someone going to a ball.”

“You look like you,” I said. “Just shining a little extra today.”

Before we left for her small family celebration, she asked me to take a photo. She posed so seriously, trying to look grown up, yet still every bit an eight year old.

“Can we post it?” she asked. “I want everyone to see.”

So here it is. My little girl on her birthday, hoping for a few hearts from people who may not know her, but who can still feel what I feel.

She keeps checking the phone, counting each like with a smile. And honestly, each one feels like someone quietly saying,
You matter.
You are beautiful.
Your joy is important.

Eight years ago, she made me a mother.
Today, she reminds me why she is the greatest gift I will ever receive.

Happy birthday, my sweet girl.
You have always been my princess, with or without the dress.
