Tips on selecting the right fabric for a slip cover or upholstery. Shop local….
The staff at Fabric Solutions, Mills Outlet, Arteè are a delight to work with. Show them a pic of the furniture or room…They will point you to the right direction and assist you in finding the fabric that fits you.

Make sure the fabric you love for it’s look and feel also holds up well to wash and wear. Tightly woven, stable and supple fabrics work best for washable slipcovers. Some fabrics require wash for upholstery.

Make sure to match the fabric weight to the function of your furniture

Occasional use and wash, mostly decorative = light to medium weight fabric. Great for throw pillows.

Daily use, moderate traffic, occasional wash = medium to heavy weight fabric.

Daily use, heavy traffic, kid & pet friendly, frequent wash = heavy weight fabric.
In my opinion & experience-crypton fabric is one of the best high performance and for easy cleaning and built in stain resistance. Check out video.

Worked in a special project.
These chairs were in the family for a while and have seen better days. The current owner told me she had memories and pictures of her
Mom and grandmother holding her in these chairs. It’s hard to let go of things that mean so much to you. She wanted to salvage the fabric. I was able to remove some of the fabric, wash it and turn them into 2 throw pillows. She has one and her mother has the other. The chairs will be reupholstered and donated to women’s shelter.
