I keep track of the educational days we complete throughout the school year. Educational days don’t always have to mean traditional lessons at home. Field trips, co-op days, service projects, and other educational activities can count too.

This attendance sheet helps me keep track of each day and easily total them throughout the year.

A quick reminder for newer homeschool families: attendance records are not required in the state of Texas, but some states do require documentation. Be sure to check your individual state homeschool laws and requirements.

Summer Planning Series 😊I will be sharing the planning pages, calendars and organizational tools I use. These ideas aren't one-size-fits-all, but I hope they inspire you as you create a plan that works for your family.

The yearly calendar is usually the very first planning tool I put together for the upcoming school year.

I like adding our start and end dates, grading quarters, national holidays, co-op days, and any vacations or breaks we already know about ahead of time. Having everything mapped out early is a huge help when I start scheduling classes and organizing our lessons inside the Homeschool Hub.

It doesn’t make the year perfect, but it definitely helps our family stay more intentional and organized throughout the school year

One thing I like to do at the beginning of summer is customize a list like this for each one of my kids!

Their “Choose an Adventure” column is based on their own interests and hobbies, so every list looks a little different. It has been such a great tool for those days when we are home most of the day and I hear, “I’m bored!”

It gives them ideas for creative activities, helps encourage independence, and keeps a good balance of fun, learning, and responsibility during the summer months.
