Homeowners wanted a custom buffet/hutch that housed hidden induction warmers under the countertop. Biggest challenge was to incorporate ventilation that didn’t disturb the aesthetics. So we integrated vents inside the lower cabinets that draw cool air in from the toe kick (even when the doors are closed) and exhaust warm air out the back of the cabinet. We mounted the entire cabinet 2” from the wall to allow the warm air to rise and dissipate with additional vents on the solid top. Finally, we built end panels wide enough to touch the wall and hide the 2” space entirely. Not a small or lightweight unit! It took four guys to lift the solid white oak upper cabinet into place. Overall dimensions are 115”w x 108”h.
