Mid Century Modern Runs Deep!!!

At Mid Century Modern Home we rescue great pieces of the past so that they may live again. This business is especially gratifying for me because my grandfather and his brothers sold these new “Modern” style pieces the first time around!

In the forties, they opened "Modern Home Appliance" in Chambersburg, PA. It was still in the family until the end of 2017, and still in the building (shown above) where much of their adventure began.

My grandmother Sylvia soon began replacing her fine antiques with the latest in modern designs which she fell in love with while walking the industry's avant-garde furniture markets with her husband Joe.

Sylvia and Joe soon built a home that was as mid century modern as they come. From the architecture, exterior, the accordion doors on every room, to the spinning Bali dancer Moss lamp, and the Milo Baughman style chrome and glass coffee table that literally left it's mark on most of us kids...
