We also love brainstorming and creating brand new items. Amy's family barn is coming down, and we hated to see that barn wood go to waste. So, we are bringing the wood to West Des Moines and are using it to create home decor items. Some of the wood remains the bright red it was 50 years ago while other pieces are weathered down. Our Story

We are currently located at Homespun Elegance at the Valley West Mall.

We still take custom orders, and we still build tables, barn doors, desks, shelving, etc.; the bigger items don’t fit into our booth, but we still take orders on them. You can find photos of these items in our photos; you can also look at our website -- www.barnboardsandsalvage.com.

Our store is a blend of the old + new. We love taking old finds and turning them into new, fun decor items. We also love brainstorming and creating brand new items from new wood. How we got our start: Amy's family barn was coming down, and we hated to see that barn wood go to waste. So, we brought the wood to West Des Moines and are using it to create home decor items. The wood is worn, rustic, knotted, and beautiful.

We take each barn down ourselves with the help of family. We love that each barn has its own story and unique siding. We hope you agree and would like a piece of the barn in your home.
