Marigil Walsh started and grew GWI by visiting clients in their homes, listening to their needs and then evaluating their living requirements such as scope, flow, number of rooms and how the interior and exterior living areas should play into the design scheme. The design process then unfolds and work begins. Marigil (Gil) Walsh has over 30 years experience designing distinctive interiors for luxu
ry homes and yachts, city/country clubs, executive offices and boutique hotels. Her extraordinary eye for fabric, color and design is what draws clients to her firm. Not many interior designers can credit Arnold Palmer with getting their career started. Learning that Gil was headed for Ohio for her first job interview, Palmer offered her a ride in his plane. Later, she was called upon by The Palmers to help with interior design projects. Her association with golf extends to her work at Laurel Valley, Fox Chapel and the Pittsburgh Golf Club. She played a key role in securing the ranking of The Duquesne Club as the number one City Club in America. Her greatest pleasure continues to be creating and developing the finest interior designs unique and personal to each client. Residing in multiple residences throughout the year, Gil understands the demands of maintaining several homes and the exciting opportunities to express different sides of one’s personality. She feels knowing what clients need and anticipating their changing vision is what good design is all about. Gil graduated from Chatham College with a B.A. in Liberal Arts and the Art Institute with a B.S. She has certifications from NCIDQ, GreenAP and the Sustainable Furnishings Council. Licensed in the State of Florida, she is an active member in the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID #5099) and a member of the Society of Classical Architecture.
