These two have lived a few lives already.

When I found them, they were sturdy but tired—lost in a dark finish that hid their beautiful details. So I stripped them down, sanded every groove, and reimagined them in soft gray and walnut tones that feel warm, calm, and a little unexpected.

The fluted sides are my favorite part—like little architectural columns grounding the piece. And the updated bronze pulls add just the right amount of contrast.

Are they perfect? No. They still have tiny signs of the life they lived before. But that’s what I love most. They’re not factory-finished. They’re hand-finished. With care, attention, and intention.

This is a gorgeous JMcLaughlin by Bassett entryway table that I recently refinished in a rich navy blue.

It’s a solid, well-made piece with beautiful turned legs, two deep working drawers, and classy gold hardware and feet that give it a modern touch without losing that classic charm.

Classic and timeless statement vintage Dixie Hepplewhite dresser.

Long dresser with 8 drawers. Solid mahogany, from around 1940s.

Cleaned, refinished and painted in a very elegant and sophisticated dark blue and dark stained top, matching perfectly with the vintage gold hardware.

This is definitely a conversation starter.

All drawers work perfectly and are in pristine condition. They just don’t make fine furniture like this nowadays.

Happy Friday! This piece is the most accurate proof of my procrastination power. I’ve started working on it one year ago!
I had tons of different ideas on how I would like to refinish it. I tried many of them. Many didn’t work. Many mishaps. And finally I got to a point where I’m happy with it.
It all started with replacing the claw feet. It already made a big difference in bringing it to a more modern feel.
I knew since the begging that I wanted a different color inside. But after just painting, it was too bland for my taste. Then I tried stencil. It didn’t do it for me. That’s when I moved to wallpaper. It brought a whole new life to this piece.

An artist here, who I highly admire, always says you don’t have to work only on solid wood pieces. You can use the transformative power of paint to turn something meh into something pretty and give it a new chance, a new life.

I dove into making this little cedar lined hope chest a new cute piece that will likely be used to hold toys, family games, baby clothes, blankets, and so many more adorable items.

The new light blue color gives it a soft and serene appearance. And to give it more dimension, I’ve opted for highlighting the grain on the veneer with an antique dark wax. That was just the cherry on top for a subtle weathered rustic feel.

This would be a lovely addition to any room, providing both practical storage space and an aesthetically pleasing piece of furniture.

Phew! It took me a lifetime to finish! I could go on and on with excuses, but Winter was the biggest reason why I haven’t finished this set before.
It’s a Bassett set. Solid as a rock. Heavy as a gigantic rock!
Stripping, priming, spot treating, painting, put it all together for an amazing end result. And the amazing new hardware, which I think made a gigantic difference.
