One of the biggest misconceptions about downsizing is that it's all about getting rid of things.

It's about deciding what you want to bring with you into your next chapter. When you focus on the belongings you use, love, and truly value, the decisions become clearer and the process feels much less overwhelming.

A smaller kitchen doesn't have to feel cramped. The secret isn't having more cabinets. It's making better use of the space you already have.

A few simple changes can make everyday cooking easier:

-Add a Lazy Susan to corner cabinets.
-Use stacking bins and shelf risers to double cabinet space.
-Store items vertically whenever possible.
-Consider a rolling bar cart for extra storage and workspace.

A little planning can make even the smallest kitchen feel more functional.

Start at the door, not the bedroom. Hang things at the height of the person using them. Give every category exactly one home. And build the system on Sunday, because Monday morning is not when systems get built.
