Super proud of this build! That was probably the hardest unit to figure out. Space was limited to 8’6” and we had to fit 36” removable trays and feed drawers in both sides. As I mentioned the overall measurements are 102”x26.5”x38”. 2 drawers and a cubby on top, double barn doors, removable trays and feed/water drawers on both sides. The entire unit was stained in “coffee” minwax gel stain. It will be delivered to its new home in Clyde, TX tomorrow!

Of the thousands of kennels we have built over the years, these 2 are very high on my list of the ones I’m proud of. Hammers were thrown, cuss words were screamed, but eventually we got it figured out! What made these (2) 48”x29”x30” units so trying was the way our customer wanted the doors slide up and go to the top similar to a garage door (see 3rd picture). How we accomplished this was to router a grove for a 3/8” aluminum track to set in. First we tried all thread, then metal round stock to fit in the track to allow the doors to slide back. I didn’t like the way metal on metal felt so we ended up using 3/8” oak dowels and sanded them down just enough to insure the prefect fit. This add on will NOT be cheap in the future. It is VERY time consuming and literally has to be perfect for everything to work properly. Our customer chose Semi Transparent Denim Blue stain for the base, & Honey Maple stain for the tops/floors!

Delivery day!!!
These 2 units are going to Arlington, TX today!
(Left) is a 48x24x30” with the add on of a single barn door & bars on all sides, stained in Espresso

(Right) is a 60x24x30 with the add on of a single barn door, as for the stain color we had to mix several colors together and burn the wood to achieve this color so it matched our customer existing furniture.

Our latest build was a 70”x39”x46” oversized single for the most well behaved German Shepard I’ve ever seen, and 2 shelves on each side of the fireplace to perfectly match our customers existing mantel.

Kennel is painted in Sherwin Williams antique white with an Aged Barrel top/floor
