• Meet the Founder: Troy Inman •

• Who I Am:
My interest in woodworking began over 30 years ago from the need for a simple shelf. And while that first effort was succcessful, it sparked a desire learn more about woodworking tools and techniques. I served 26 years in the United States Navy where I initially drew an interest in my craft. I am 100% self-taught and learned my skills “the hard way.” There’s always been something in hand-crafted furniture that has ignited my passion for building beautiful pieces sourced from the mountains of Western North Carolina. I was born in Waynesville in 1946 off of Allen’s Creek Road, and have always looked for a way to implement my home, and the surrounding area into my craft.

• What I do:
Today I produce a wide variety of wood products, including tables, desks, bookcases, jewelry boxes, firearm cases, tv stands, and many more. I use only renewable (non-endangered species) from the mountains of North Carolina to produce heirloom quality furniture. While cheap furniture can be found in many stores, such items will last only a few years; my furniture will last for generations, provided that it is cared for properly.

• Why I do it:
My goal is to bring the beauty and peacefulness of WNC into your home through handcrafted goods. Each piece that leaves our shop resembles something to our customer, each piece carries a story- often for generations to come, and that’s what it’s all about for us.
There’s a certain feel that comes with a handcrafted home goods- knowing the detailed approach that is taken day-by-day in every project I tend to. Taking each step with a goal in mind is what’s led me to love my craft for over 30 years.

We really enjoyed building this coffee bar for a customer out of Winston-Salem, NC.

This project was built with wood sourced from the old Unigusta Furniture Factory in Waynesville circa 1930s. Our client was very pleased with the result of the project, and we couldn’t be happier for them!
