Greetings, local ECC fans! It is with mixed emotions that I must make this announcement: My family and I are moving out of the Waxhaw/Charlotte area and consequently, Elaine's Custom Creations will no longer be a local business. I am so grateful for the opportunity to have served you all, and for your encouragement and support! I can't express what these have meant to me as my little business has grown. I am sorry to leave our wonderful area but I know this move is best for my family's needs at this time.
Until this point, the posts on this page have focused only on one aspect of my custom creations (cakes), but that's not all I do. In the future you can expect a variety of creations in my posts...and some will be shippable! Looking forward to serving you from my new location in California!

You're looking at my newest favorite among my cake designs! This bride wanted me to incorporate a beautiful stained glass pattern she fell in love with, as well as the silver tooling that is a favorite motif of hers. We enjoyed conspiring to surprise her guests! I'll share more details about how I created it in the comments. :-)

Here's another little beauty into which I got to incorporate ganache, lace, and sugar roses! What a fun Valentine's Day this was!

Roses and Chocolates! I love, love, loved the combination of rustic and refined textures on this special creation for a combination Valentine's/anniversary gift!
For the 12" candy "box" I dusted the rich ganache frosting with light and dark cocoa powder for a unique texture that reminded me a bit of what tree bark would look like if it were made of crushed velvet, then trimmed it with the beautiful sugar lace. A combination of hand-molded and premade chocolates are nestled in chocolate fondant "paper" frills. And of course, the whole thing is garnished with beautiful sugarpaste roses!
