Rough Cut Glades was born from our love of natural woods, skiing through them and each other! Margaret and Owen met while taking a class to become ski patrollers in the beautiful state of Vermont. They first thought up the idea for RCG when Owen surprised Margaret with a beautiful wooden sign for their first holiday together. It was a piece of curly Cherry with an intricate, rough natural edge tha
t depicted the name of the mountain she patrols at, and she knew that others would be as excited by this integration of nature and art. They then decided to start making more products, not only custom signs made out of interesting pieces of wood for decoration, but also practical pieces, such as bottle openers, wine stoppers, book stands and even furniture.
