Where Craftsmanship Lives: Our 300 Acre Furniture Workshop and Showroom
Over the past several weeks, I have been in the process of relocating my furniture showroom from Martinez, Georgia, to Washington, Georgia.
About 16 years ago, I received several custom furniture orders from The Ritz-Carlton for outdoor and lobby pieces. Those projects became the beginning of many relationships and led to my furniture being shipped to clients across several states.
For years, I had considered relocating the showroom closer to where the furniture is actually built, but the undertaking was significant. The showroom contained a large collection of handcrafted pieces – many quite substantial in size – with an estimated value of over $225,000. Moving them has been no small task. For example, one of my custom farm tables requires eight people to move.
I am pleased to say that the transition will be completed by April 1, 2026.
The new location in Washington, Georgia, includes all of the workshops where our furniture is designed and produced. For the first time, clients who wish to visit will be able to see the entire process – from craftsmanship in the shop to the finished pieces – in one location.
Interestingly, about sixty percent of my business has always come from out-of-state clients who first encountered my furniture in a friend's home or while visiting a luxury resort. Word of mouth and seeing the furniture in a real environment has been the most meaningful introduction to my work.
If you ever find yourself in the area and would like to visit the new showroom and workshops, I would be delighted to host you. Please feel free to call to schedule an appointment.
Warm regards,
Steve Gillispie
