We set out to find an older home with character and the second we stepped into the house for the first time I immediately asked “Okay, so how do we buy it?”! The moulding, huge archways, old roughed up original wood floor from 1883 with patches everywhere, huge front porch, the highest ceilings – we needed all of it. We were so lucky to be able to buy such a piece of history and I spent the next y
ear bringing all of my ideas to life and really making the house our home. I am a stay at home mom and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Our daughter is a vivacious, sassy, smart, beautiful, imaginative little girl and I am so lucky to be here to experience all of it first hand, the good and the bad. When I was done with the house, and I say “done” loosely because I am never quite done, I found myself itching for something to do. I would pace around and move furniture or try to find something else that needed painting. Fable’s Collection was born out of an epiphany; I could paint furniture and have that creative release and it didn’t have to be just for my own home. I spent an entire year building a cohesive, inviting, functional space for my family and i could help others do the same. Inspired by my daughter, Fable, and my want to continue to stay home with her, I bought a bunch of amazing old furniture in need of some love and so it all began. Each piece has its own history and I hope to bring out the beauty in all of them one at a time. I paint everything as if it was going to be inside my own home, top to bottom, inside and out. Fable’s Collection is full of things to talk about, conversation pieces, bold statements, furniture that speaks.
