🪵 Red Oak Storage Bench – Finally Finished!

It’s been a minute since I’ve posted — the shop’s been a bit of a construction zone lately with some remodeling going on behind the scenes. Between that and a steady stream of Jeep Badge boards heading out the door, it’s been a busy stretch!

But I finally had a chance to wrap up this beast: a solid red oak storage bench. 💪
This one was a challenge, new jointery, new stain method, new finish method. All worth the wait! Clean lines, beautiful grain, and sturdy enough to last for generations.

Appreciate all the continued support while things have been quiet on the feed. More cool builds coming soon!

As we look back on 2024, we’re so grateful for the amazing support from our friends, family, and customers. This past year has been an exciting one for us:

When I needed a compass big enough to draw arcs and circles up to 40 inches, I realized I didn’t have one… so I made one! Four hours later, thanks to a little 3D printing ingenuity, I had this oversized compass ready to go. Perfect for tackling large-scale woodworking projects that demand precision. 🛠️

Honoring Heroes in Style

This week at Yegge's Workshop, we had the privilege of creating a special project: a commemorative display plaque for a volunteer firefighter.

Crafted from rich walnut wood, this plaque is a true tribute to the dedication and bravery of our local heroes. It prominently showcases a beautifully mounted axe, a laser-etched fire department logo, a pumper hat badge, and a meaningful ornament.

Projects like these are an honor to bring to life—celebrating the commitment of those who selflessly serve their communities.

Trying something new in the shop today—putting the CNC to the test on a Jeep Badge of Honor display! I usually do things manually, but I'm experimenting with how the CNC can add precision and efficiency to these custom pieces. Go figure, the Manufacturing Engineer worried about efficiency.
