💙💛 Five years of friendship, service and making a difference! This week, we’re celebrating the Washington City Rotary Club’s fifth charter anniversary. Our club’s beginnings took persistence: three attempts over two decades brought the vision to life. In 2021, we called 25 members to order at our charter celebration and our members were already putting service into action!

🤗 Rotary began in Chicago in 1905 with Paul Harris and three others gathering for fellowship. Our charter connected Washington City to that growing legacy of service. Today, we honor the people who made our club possible and everyone who continues its mission.

🎂 Five years ago, our charter gave us an official beginning. What we do together gives it meaning. Here’s to our next chapter of Service Above Self! 🌎🤝

🌱 Small beginnings, Lifelong impact! Our Washington City Rotary Club welcomed guest speakers from Root for Kids to share how they help children and families thrive. Through early intervention, developmental screenings, therapies, early learning and parent support, their programs help little ones build a strong foundation for the future. Hearing the heartfelt stories behind their work reminded us that every child deserves the opportunity to grow, learn and reach their potential. 💛

🥹 As Rotarians, we put “Service Above Self” into action by supporting organizations that strengthen our community. Through donations, spreading awareness and volunteering our time, our club helps support the meaningful work of Root for Kids.

🫂 Thank you to today’s speakers for sharing your passion and reminding us what a difference we can make when we come together for children and families! 🤝🌎

📚 Small acts of service can open up a world of possibilities! In honor of Rotary International September literacy month, our club collected books and donated them to Root for Kids. We loved coming together to help put stories into little hands and encourage a love of reading, learning, and imagination. Thank you to everyone who contributed! 💛

💛 On World Polio Day, October 26, we recognize the incredible progress that has been made through vaccination, education, advocacy and decades of determination — while remembering that the work isn’t finished yet.
