After the fish fry the live auction will include this certificate for 250 bushel of wheat cleaning w/full fungicide and insecticide treatment (over $1000 value). If you're not a wheat producer but have something else to clean I'm also willing to do that up to the full value! Live band to follow, I'll see you there!

Cold and windy day today near Abilene, KS cleaning up some corn. This is a high fat, high protein special corn that is added into a deer mineral blend.

Rolling on through wheat calls around Axtell & Summerfield, KS today. Thanks to my customers for flexing their schedules so I could attend my son's cross country meet in Seneca this afternoon. As many of us know, work and farming will always get done but our kids are only young once!

The Kansas Wheat Farmer
Sometimes I think about everything some of these guys have seen. 50+ wheat crops put in. Farm crises, weather disasters. Bad years, boom years.
All the changes - tillage methodology, fertility, yields, and equipment, I can't imagine the difference in buying the first 4430 with a cab to today's combines.
At the end of the day, good conversation will be had, firm handshakes will be given, and dinner will be served if the schedule provides.
These are my people.

Treater is up and running today! Looking Good!
As usual I am carrying fungicide/insecticide treatment, and this year also have an additional growth promoter available for some of those late October plantings, as we know tiller counts are so important for yield!

Big ol' load of Zenda going out the door today near Hebron, NE. I'll be hammering my way through the list hard here the next 2 weeks before everybody gets combining, and will be firing up the treater later this week to start applying for anyone wanting fungicide/insecticide treatment. It's Go Time!!

I had one more job to cross off the list today before rolling on to wheat. I have had a great relationship with Viterra (now Bunge) handling some small contaminated grain jobs across 3 of their locations in the last year. I got the call a few months ago to come sort some fertilizer out of some rejected soybeans at their intermodal rail transload facility in Council Bluffs, IA. Our schedules finally aligned to get them done today while they had low truck traffic coming in.

Appreciation post tonight for my bro in law Jamie Cole. Driving thousands of miles up and down the road and loading up truck after truck takes a toll on equipment, and today I had a bad breakdown. With jobs lined up for the next week and no time to kill, he got me back up and running. I'll gladly put my time back in working long hours during planting and harvesting season to get the job done.

Been quiet on Facebook this summer, but that doesn't mean I haven't been out running! There has been alot of carryover seed from last year for some of my usual customers, but that's allowed me to meet some new folks around the area this year. Rolling through rye calls the past week, and hope to be wrapping any rye or triticale jobs up here in the next 2 weeks or so.

Good read. Wheat needs to be looked at in a 2 or 3 year window to see the more positive returns it can provide via following year yield bumps or livestock feed.

Dunlap, KS today to clean up some soybeans that were involved in a wreck last fall harvest. These were hurriedly scooped out of a ditch with drizzle starting and they were DIRTY. Got the rig dialed in and we did a knockout job cleaning out the grass, rocks, dirt, plastic, and everything else that was in there. Great crew helping out and these beans are off to Bunge.
