Hi Joyful Nest friends! I’m still here! Just moving my creativity into another route for the time being. I’m taking a break for this season of time to homeschool my kids, and to give them hands on learning experiences this school year. So I’m mostly wearing gym clothes, hanging at the house with the kids, or taking a day trip (with so👏🏼many👏🏼potty breaks👏🏼), playing in dirt, lucky if I have a shower daily, spending time fighting self doubt, and pressing into Jesus desperately to refine me and fill me with more of Him. Because you know what?! I am not enough. I love each of you and hope you all are thriving where you’re planted for this season.

My daughter loves her special bench I worked on this week. And let me tell you!... it felt SO good to get a paintbrush in my hand. It reminded me that furniture painting and refinishing is a much needed creative outlet for my soul.

Happy Tuesday! You guys! I’m ACTUALLY doing furniture this week!! I had to pause things for a bit and figure out what life needed to look like for our family in this crazy season. I’m excited to be working on a bench for my 3 year old’s room. ’s Himalayan Pink is going to be perfect with this bright, funky fabric. Since stay at home orders, I chose to pause just about all furniture and vintage activities to focus on my kids. And let me tell you- Today felt so good! I worked on some incomplete furniture- all started pre-covid. A table my parents have patiently waited for...and this cabinet. So I switched things up and started working on a canvas. It feels so good to do something I haven’t done since college- to do something that’s all about the process and less about the product- and to do something that nourishes the soul.
