Time to start installing task lighting. I like to install undercabinet lighting before I install the backsplash for the simple reason that it makes it easier to see while I'm tiling. This Tresco Lighting flex tape produces a continuous line of sight so you don't have a dotted light pattern reflecting off of the countertop.

All of the appliances are in and the old French doors to the next room have been removed. Looking s much bigger and brighter--and closer to completion.

I used the same quartz to create a backsplash behind the sink and a sill for the pass thru, as well as a backsplash for the range. There was a lot of backsplash real estate. So it will break up the tile and make these areas easier to cleanup from water and pasta sauce.

Countertops are going in. We went with Silestone Pearl Jasmine quartz. There was a lot of countertop. This pattern had just enough movement to create interest and pull things together. But it wasn't so bold that it overwhelmed the room.

I usually install new flooring before the cabinets go in so that if the client makes changes down the road, they don't need to worry about out where there is new flooring and where there isn't. In the Plum kitchen, the cabinets went in first because we ran the floor planks on a 45 degree angle with a decorative border.
