Roof Mart LLC was established in 2004 by Robert McNees to create an employment opportunity for his brother-in-law John Robertson and his son Joe. By capitalizing on available inventories of high quality steel coils being sold at scrap prices, Roof Mart's initial product offering was metal panels and trim for the residential and commercial roofing market. In 2005, Roof Mart added the ability to off
er pre-engineered metal buildings, either as "kits" or to be erected on a customer's site. In 2007, Roof Mart was able to enter the post frame building market. In 2008, the economic recession resulted in a 65% drop in sales. Fortunately, careful contingency planning allowed Roof Mart to remain profitable. The business has grown from three employees in 2004 to twenty-six in 2014. In 2009, Roof Mart acquired, at a very reasonable cost, an idle manufacturing facility on 20 acres near its original location in the city of Vernon, Alabama. This acquisition has since led to two opportunities for expansion. In 2010 and 2011 Roof Mart added roll forming lines to meet the need for increased roofing trim production in added sales territories. With this expansion Roof Mart added five new employees to our team. The latest expansion plan includes the introduction of two new product lines. Roof Mart will be manufacturing trusses tailored to meet the need for a high-end product in the post frame market, as well as affordable and durable steel portable buildings.
