ul and appreciated once again. I enjoy painting & re-purposing vintage furniture and other small treasures, as well as creating items from scratch. I started painting when I was 14; however, chalk paint has changed my focus from walls, trim, & cabinets to furniture, lamps, and other small items. I enjoy hunting for vintage items that have been cast aside into thrift stores, estate sales, and yard sales and finding them a new home. We have two booths at Touches of Time Antique Mall in Van Wert OH and I recently became a stockist for Dixie Belle Mineral Paints. Dixie Belle is a fabulous company that makes quality products, all the while keeping up with the new trends. When you visit our booth, you will find vintage furniture, antiques, farmhouse, country cottage, beach cottage, and seasonal decor. You will also find Dixie Belle paint, finishes, and brushes. This beautiful solid wood buffet is ready for its new home! It was in remarkable condition but, as you can see, the gorgeous carvings were hidden behind the dark finish.

I used a custom deep blue durable paint for the body and created a light, neutral Pottery Barn finish on the top, that's protected with 4 coats of satin poly. I also replaced the hardware with beautiful vintage French provincial pulls. The interior cabinets and drawers have been cleaned and conditioned.

👀 Looking at the photos, you can see that the cabinet doors don't line up perfectly with the openings. That's due to the doors bending slightly over time as the moisture in the wood evaporated. But they operate as they should.

This beautiful antique chest is very petite when compared to most Chippendale style high-boys. It's only 57" tall! 😯 But it would be perfect for storing lingerie or baby clothes, or as an accent piece in an entryway.

This piece is extremely old so painting it wasn't an easy decision. But the beautiful carvings were lost amid the dark stain. So I chose an aged white & lightly distressed the areas that would naturally wear over time. 🌿I love how this deep earthy green looks on this dresser set & I plan to use it again soon! These pieces sold before I had a chance to show them off, but I wanted to share them anyways. Some refer to this style as neo-classical & some call it MCM. Manufactured in the mid-60's by Drexel, a furniture company known for quality.

I haven't worked on my own pieces or posted in several months. Yikes! I've been super busy with custom work & family stuff, but hoping to pick up the pace. 😄

Update-Sold! Check out this gorgeous transformation!
This rare MCM dresser with sculptured wood drawer fronts was made by the Franklin Shockey Co in the mid 70's. It now has a pretty gray paint finish & natural wood legs. I added new handles & lined the drawers with a modern gold & white floral paper. Check out the before pic while you're here. 😃

🌿Here she is...the first wicker dresser I've ever had & very boho indeed! I didn't have to do a thing to it. But as always, I cleaned it thoroughly & conditioned all 9 wood drawers. Would make a great TV stand & has a 5th leg in the center for added support. I've added a video in the comments.
