As we close down the staging part of our company and move forward to other things, I find it surprisingly nostalgic and sentimental as I pack up the sad remnants of a once thriving business. As I touch a lamp, a vase, a candlestick, memories come flooding back. I remember buying this for such and such house at this store, at this time of year, with this person. Thinking about all those who have worked with me over the years. The ups and downs of a business with many moving parts that had super highs and super lows. Last minute rushes to houses that the agent had forgotten to tell us was closing and we needed to remove the staging; sometimes as the new owners were already moving in. The fun of a fast stage that turned out great! The multiple stages in a day. Not knowing if everything would fit on the truck. Testing the limits of how much decor you could pack into a Nissan Armada (a lot, it turns out). The laughs, the stress, sometimes even tears. I look around at the end and know I learned so much, and created so many memories over the years. Thank you to those who were with me through it all. It’s a bittersweet goodbye, but I carry the memories. Tino, Jennifer, Dave, Christina, Leah, Matthew, Adina, Bobby. Thank you.
