Glass lighting has a way of making a fixture feel present without making the room feel crowded.

Capital Lighting explores that balance across pendants, chandeliers, wall sconces, and vanity lighting, pairing glass with distinctive metal finishes and considered silhouettes.

Clear glass keeps the surrounding interior visible, while textured and shaped glass can add another layer of reflection, sparkle, and light. The result is lighting that brings character to the room while allowing the architecture, furniture, and finishes around it to remain part of the picture.

From a dining room chandelier to a kitchen pendant, hallway sconce, or bathroom vanity light, glass can take on a different role depending on the space.

Save this glass lighting collection for your next lighting project.

Crystorama Palla collection brings organic texture and refined sparkle to more than one room.

Hand-pinned Capiz shells create a naturally textured surface that catches and filters light, while faceted crystal jewels add depth and subtle shimmer. The overlapping metal rings give the collection its distinctive sculptural character, balancing organic materials with polished detailing.

From chandeliers and pendants to flush mounts and vanity lighting, Palla carries the same design language across different applications. The result is lighting that feels decorative and dimensional without relying on a single dramatic fixture.

What makes the collection especially distinctive is the way it interacts with light: the Capiz shells and crystal details create shifting highlights and shadows, while the open-ring construction allows light to glow upward and cast a softer illumination below.

A hallway ceiling light has to do more than fit the space, it needs to be positioned and scaled for the way the hallway is used.

Before choosing a flush mount or semi-flush ceiling light, consider the ceiling height, available clearance, fixture profile, and the amount of general illumination the hallway needs. Flush mounts are especially practical for lower ceilings and narrow circulation areas, while semi-flush fixtures can work well when you have a little more vertical clearance.

But placement is only part of the decision. The right fixture also depends on the hallway's proportions, whether you need general or focused lighting, and how the ceiling light relates to other fixtures in nearby spaces.

Planning hallway lighting? Our complete ceiling lighting guide walks through flush vs. semi-flush fixtures, ceiling-height considerations, room applications, and how to narrow down the right style.

Choosing a porch pendant is about more than finding a fixture you like. Before installing one, check four things: the outdoor rating, porch size, ceiling height, and light distribution.

The Quorum Charter Outdoor Pendant is a good example of how those considerations come together. Its oiled bronze finish and clear hammered glass bring a warm, traditional character to covered outdoor spaces, while its one-light design accommodates up to 100 watts for practical illumination.

For a porch, make sure the fixture is appropriately rated for the location, scaled to the space, proportionate to the ceiling height, and able to distribute light where you actually need it. A pendant should illuminate the porch without creating unnecessary glare or leaving key areas dark.

Is one ceiling fan really enough for your open-concept home?

There’s a smarter way to think about fan placement, and it could make a bigger difference to how your entire space feels.

Blade pitch isn't just a number on a ceiling fan specification sheet. It helps determine how effectively the blades push air.

Think of the blade like a paddle moving through water. The angle changes how much air the blade can catch and move with each rotation. A steeper pitch generally creates more air movement, but it also puts more load on the motor. That's why pitch has to be matched with the motor and blade design.

That's why you shouldn't choose a fan by blade pitch alone.

Look at the combination of:

Blade pitch → how the blade meets the air
Motor → how much power drives it
Blade span & shape → how much air it can move
CFM → the resulting airflow

For example, the Kichler Ried 56" Ceiling Fan uses a 14° blade pitch and is rated at 5,260 CFM at high speed. That specification tells you much more when considered alongside the fan's motor and 56" blade span.

So why care about blade pitch? Because it is one of the specifications that helps explain why two fans of similar size can deliver very different airflow.
