Feel Good Story: A few months ago FDC was asked if we were interested in donating to help outfit New Haven Police officers with AED’s. We immediately said yes. After only a few weeks of being in service, we found out today that one of the donated AED’s was first on scene to a subject in cardiac arrest. The officer delivered one shock to the patient and continued CPR until EC Fire/EMS arrived and the patient regained a pulse and was transported to the ER!

FDC is proud to assist East Central Fire & EMS and New Haven, IN Police Department in the purchase of new AED’s.

East Central Fire & EMS is proud to announce the presentation of seven Automated External Defibrillator's (AED's) to The New Haven Police Department as part of East Central Fire and EMS' ongoing initiative to place lifesaving equipment in patrol vehicles throughout the community.

This initiative is designed to expand access to critical emergency medical equipment and improve response capabilities during sudden cardiac emergencies. By equipping police officers with AEDs, lifesaving care can be brought to those in need as quickly as possible when every second counts.

Officers are often among the first emergency responders to arrive on scene. Having immediate access to an AED can significantly enhance emergency response efforts by providing rapid intervention during cardiac-related emergencies.

Through this collaborative effort, AEDs have been placed in New Haven Police Department vehicles, expanding the availability of emergency cardiac care throughout the community. The initiative reflects the shared commitment of East Central Fire and EMS and the New Haven Police Department to improving public safety and emergency preparedness.

East Central Fire and EMS extends its sincere appreciation to the community partners and donors whose support helped make this initiative possible. Contributors recognized on the project include
FDC Emergency Services, Holler Tax & Accounting, Ehle Services, Bars Inc., 3 Pals Pub, Challenge Tool, Home Lumber of New Haven, Inc., and Koester's Body & Frame Shop.

The success of this project demonstrates the impact that community partnerships can have on enhancing public safety resources and improving emergency response capabilities throughout New Haven.
