Not all woodgrain has to be brown and boring. Using Paint Couture Paint, glaze and woodgrain tool you can create a faux woodgrain in any color combo your heart desires! β€πππ€
On this laminate table and chair set I started by prepping with a good TSP cleaner, scuff sanded and primed everything with a bonding primer. Next I painted the legs and chairs with Baltic Black acrylic mineral paint and sealed with Satin Topcoat. Now for the fun part.. using Peacock, Red Velvet, Lemon Peel and Sea Glass acrylic mineral paints, I painted a random, overlapping layer of color on the table top. ( I'll drop a picture of this step in the comments) After this layer had dried thoroughly I sealed it with the Satin Topcoat. This step is not necessarily needed when using Paint Couture glazes but for the added protection, I recommend sealing your paint before glazing. I let the topcoat dry 24 hours before continuing with the glaze. Raven Black glaze was then brushed on in sections and the woodgrain tool was used to reveal the fun colors underneath. Finally, a second layer of Satin Topcoat was applied to complete the look.
